Drivers side Power Window
My 1997 Astro Van has a problem with the drivers side power window. It used to go up only 2" at a time, not it takes hours to get the window up once it's down. I need to replace the power window motor prior to state inspection. I've taken the inside door handle, paneling, etc off, but I've know idea how to get to the motor or where to even get one. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

RE: Drivers side Power Window
The best thing for you to do, if you are going to do this yourself, is to go to your local parts store (Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, NAPA, Checker, Pep Boys etc.), and get a service manual. I Prefer the Haynes manual, but the Chilton is also a good start. They will also be able to get you the proper motor for your application. Make sure you give them all the right details about your vehichle. If need be, take them out to the van and they will check vin codes or anything else. Between the book, and the parts person, you should have all you need (aside from the right tools, not sure if it requires special tools to get that one out, some do, so ask). Hope this helps.
