Following Acura's decision last year to file its planned introduction of a diesel version of the TSX way back on a shelf somewhere, they have introduced a new alternative to bridge the divide between the top of the four cylinder TSX range and the entry level TL. That bridging model is the new TSX V6. The TSX is now available with the same 3.5-liter V6 found in the base TL as well as the Accord.
In the TSX, the V6 is rated at 280 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque, a significant bump up from the 201 hp/ 172 lb-ft of the 2.4-liter four. While the TL is available with a manual gearbox, the TSX can only be had with an automatic. Unfortunately the auto-box is the same 5-speed that has been used in Honda's for several years rather than the new 6-speed that debuts in the MDX and ZDX. You can check out our driving impressions after the jump.
