I took a contract job in NorCAL in April (I was working in VA ). I did my job well, (better than most directs) made my manager happy, and took care of business. Our new r&d product will prob. get a great contract & be successful.. but what I didn't figure on was the company I was contracting to loosing over $2 billion in a month in military contracts.
I'm being replaced today by a furloughed employee from a failed program & I hear that they're letting over 250 directs go in the next couple of months..... anyway I'm looking at the job market & I'd say as far as the design engineering, military aerospace field (and pretty much any thing else other than nurses) is hurting in a serious way....

Well... I'm still looking for work... may have a job next week though... a DOD guy is retiring & I have a good shot at his old position... **fingers are crossed at this point**
